I met Michelle Bridges!! SCORED!!

Hey All

Well I headed out to Rebel Sport on Saturday (Chatswood mall, Sydney) as Michelle Bridges was going to be there promoting a brand of sports gear and signing merchandise etc.  I had such an upset tummy all morning (IBS) and wasn't very well.  I got on my bust (30 mins bus ride) and then waited for the train.  About two train stops into my journey to the mall, I had an urgency to do a poo!!  I had to get off at Central, go loo, and then wait for another train to Chatswood!!  Poor tummy!

Me and Michelle, 24/09/2011

I met Michelle and she asked me how it was all going, and if I had been finding it okay/hard.  I mentioned that I find cooking dinner hard as I"m so tired from my day and gym workout and travelling home...plus I don't have a microwave so had to cook fresh and some nights couldn't be bothered.  She is so pretty (and tiny)! She has amazing eyes I must say!  Anyway, I'm pretty good at reading people's personalities and she was really interested in how I was going, and was so sincere.  She gave me a big hug and man, she is so inspiring!  I felt like I had met a rock star!

I was walking around the rebel sport in a daze after that (but managed to splash $200 on singlets, her DVD package, boxing wraps and a t-shirt).  What a day!!

Anyway, I arrived in the nick of time!!  She was still there.  I met two beautiful ladies who were also doing the 12wbt and were there to chat to Michelle.  They kindly let me go in front and they even took a pic of me and Michelle for me! Very kind of them and I was very grateful!  Hopefully I'll see them again at the finale (I can't remember their names as I was so on cloud 9 and also sweaty from rushing to get to the mall)!!!

Blog challenge

1. Describe yourself in 25 words or less. You can get straight to the point - or bring your creativity into play. Cheeky Kiwi chick with big boobs!! Lol (no really, they are big). Bubbly personality, intelligent, witty, loved, artistic, music lover, magazine whore (as in I buy heaps of magazines each week)!!

2. What brings you to 12wbt? Getting fitter? Losing weight? (Gaining weight??) Are you first timer, a repeat offender??
I'm here to lose weight, and improve my health.  I've put on 25kg since living in Australia and I want to get back to a healthy weight and lifestyle. I want to be the girl I was back in NZ - full of life, sociable, confident, no health issues, FUN!!
3. Why do you blog??
It's just showing off really isn't it!!  I get to paste my photo's of my journey without bombarding my friends on facebook!! No, really..I have tried to blog before (when I was trying to get into the Police in NZ) and I found it really kept me on track.  I'm not an emotional writer /blogger though..more of a photo's blogger!

4. Who is your biggest inspiration in life and why (doesn't have to be weight loss)
Uhhh this isn't that hard...it would have to be my Dad.  He's been obese since I can remember.  He's a very successfull businessman and also very giving and loving.  He has actually joined the gym with my mum and I'm so proud of him.
5. What things in life bring you the most joy?
My sexy lover Jesse (he cracks me up big time and always brightens my day), my family and friends back home (my bestie Elaine who is always there for me with good advice, my parents who are really supportitive and now competing! and my beautiful niece and nephew who brighten my week with their smiles), lately...the gym!!  Seeing the scales come down, magazines!!!  Hopefully I'll be experiencing joy from shopping again soon, dancing to Hip Hop, singing, listening to my music, red lipstick and perfume!
6.What do you think your greatest challenge is going to be this round?
Probably my move to Perth mid-round and starting a new job, living in a hotel for two week's and then an apartment for another two weeks, and finding a new place to live, finding a gym, meeting new people!! Worst thing is not seeing results and getting upset by this.
7. What are you most excited about 12wbt?
The transformation, meeting some new people, the FINALE!!  Seeing the look on my partner's face when I'm all dressed up glam for the finale party, feeling SEXY again and working in on the dancefloor BRINGING IT!

8. And what scares the pants off you?
Probably injuries as I've only ever had a broken arm...but now I've got scoliosis in my back and my pelvis is two centimetres higher on one side.  This is causing me grief when I run...ice pack on every second night!  I'm just trying to focus and stay healthy and be careful but give it my all god-dammit!
9. Tell me - right now - today - how do you feel about exercise in no more than 10 words
Bloody brilliant...LOVE BOXING, 90's step classes and RUNNING!!
10. Complete this sentence - in 12 weeks time - on the last day of 12wbt I am going to be feeling like Nicole Chapman again.

red flag moments

Hey everyone!

Well, I had my mum come over to Sydney from NZ for a long weekend and my partner was also home from the mines...so it was a pretty busy weekend with a couple red flag moments...but also with some great exercise sessions. Mum and I went for two massive walks (even did some jogging) and burnt off the 500 cals per session.

On Saturday, it was all about pampering!  We had been shopping all day Friday (exercise was in the afternoon), and Saturday was just a chill out day.

Sunday was a massive workout in the City with my mum and partner.  Went to the gym and we all did our own workout, and then met up for some friendly challenges (bridge holds etc).

I had a great time with mum over, and really enjoyed it, but now it's time to knuckle down harder.

I found it pretty hard going out to dinner on Saturday night and couldn't resist temptation (had three glasses of white wine, and a mojito...and shared a dessert with mum).  It's amazing how guilty you actually feel.  I don't think I'll be having any 'treat meals' during the rest of the 12wbt, because although I enjoy it at the time, I know I can last the rest of the course without having that temptation to put me off my game!

pampering time!

tried the menu...so good!

Well, I'm trying to plan my weekend and prepare any meals I can for the week.
Only one I can't really do is the fish cakes (which make me drool just thinking about them). I don't like buying frozen fish, and this is the only option at our Woolies...will find somewhere in the City and buy it on Monday...also, don't have a food processor.  Will just chop / mash it manually.

So I made a pizza today, using the wholemeal lebanese bread.  I put a bit of tomato paste on the bottom (100% tomatoes), red onion, 1 roma tomato, anchovies, crumbled low fat fetta, crumbled mushrooms and fresh chives.  OMG it was beautiful!

Then I made the lasange - but forgot to add the can of tomatoes...but it still turned out perfect for my liking.  Four portions in the freezer for dinner/lunch meals when I get desperate.  I want to make this for my man when he gets home in three nights!

Then, decided to take a pic of my boobs so you can see what 14G worth of boobies squashed down in gym support gear looks like!! lol

For some reason, I just can't bring myself to do the SSS on a Saturday - so I'm going to do my fitness test and SSS tomorrow.  Today my body was tired.  I had a massive nana nap after my wax, and grocery shopping.  Then spent the afternoon cooking!  Tomorrow will be a big workout session, then more cooking & freezing and housework.  I actually struggle with what I should do for exercise in the weekends as I'm so far away from my gym.  Usually I just go for an hour power-walk and incorporate jogging when I can.  Might try that tomorrow and see how many calories I burn and go from there.

PHOTO's - the bad, the very bad! Not quite the undie B4 pics though!

Here are some pictures that my partner took of me at the gym - I asked him to take the photo's so I would remember the exercises!  He's AWESOME, and so patient!  We also went on a fun walk two weekends ago as a fundraiser...was good to just get started and involved in physical events that aren't the gym.
Doing some of the exercises my partner taught me

I HATE this photo, taken two weeks agao...it'll be one of my B4 pics!

My beautiful partner chilling after our fun walk

The Rear end! Bleh

This pic made me cry - I HATE it, but this is driving me to change!

My food diary

Wowers - my legs hurt the next day!!

holy heck batman! i did it!

I did it!  I managed to get under 100kg before the 12wbt starts.  That's 6kg loss in 23 days - I'm so happy as I have STRUGGLED for so frickin long to find something that works!

Just some pics.... RANDOM's

So I weighed myself this morning and I'm SO CLOSE to being under 100kg!  I've lost 4.9kg since the 15th August (pre-season).  I'm crossing my figers I'm under 100kg tomorrow morning as I dropped the kids off at the pool this morning...
or as I like to put it, my nervous poo!

I had a boxing class at lunch today...burned quite a few calories yeah baby 653 calories in an hour...I was pouring sweat.  Felt a bit gammie during the floor exercises (crunches etc) as my back is so sore.

Also below is a photo of my frozen herbs.

I mixed Italian parsley, corriandar, garlic, chives and a little cold pressed virgin oil, and some chilli paste (from the tube in your nearest deli) and froze them!  It actually worked.....now my herbs are still fresh, and don't go off!

Planning my schedule

Well, our latest task means we have to plan our schedule for the next month at least.  I've created a calendar to track my progress etc.

The toughie is actually coming up with the short-term goals for 4 / 8 and 12 week's!  I really need to think about this.  The obvious one is weight loss (durr), but I haven't really set myself an ultimate goal.

A BIG run isn't really my thing...I'd rather do a boot-camp or adventure course/ or rock climbing ...but that's my ultimate goal once I reach my first main goal of 75kg.

Am looking forward the the training session with Michelle though!!  That's going to be very special.

I also went grocery shopping in the weekend.  Poor Jesse.. I spent $300 and that didn't include any fresh fruit or veges.  I took ages in the supermarket trying to find everything...I even bought sardines in the can to give that a go!  That would be my weirdest item as everything else I already eat (just didn't have enough of)!   A new one was the cold pressed oil.  Not sure why we needed to buy that...I will have to google it to see what that oil is all about.

Weight Loss Moment

Hey All

Well I'm still in pre-season mode and have been going to the gym every day and eating very well.  I've lost 4.4kg in 15 days and the best thing is my measurements!  I've also lost a total of 26.5cm from my body in 15 days since I took my first measurements!

Went to MMA class today at Virgin Active (MMA = Mixed Martial Arts)...I got hammered!  500 calories burned in 45mins STOKED!  I'm a bit tired from the sit-ups, push-ups, burpees (damn they're hard) boxing and kickboxing.  I happened to have a primo partner and she helped push me which was great.  I also did the plank hold and had to step my feet from one side and back (hard to explain).  Very tired now though!
